Lesson 1- Using the information from the Roman reading, students will use the information to create a map of the Latin, Etruscan and Greek areas of Italy on the map.

Students are able to work with an interactive map by being able to write on it, place text, marker points, create map overlays, image overlays, measure distance with a distance calculator. Student is able to customize the map according to its needs. You can choose from the 4 types of maps, hybrid, road, satellite and terrain.It is much more interesting than a paper map!
The interactive feature would not be possible if this was a paper pencil map activity.
Lesson 2- Make a chart with government jobs and duties.
Slatebox

Students are able to work collaboratively using this slate. Slate is like a graphic organizer, using slates to connect information. Students are able to add web links, add images, and text.
Collaboration is the key word. Students can work on this in a collaborative manner without being in the same class.
Lesson 3- Students will research information on 3 class systems of Ancient Rome and post information so students can work collaboratively
Padlet

Students can have one place to post researched information. Students can post links, videos and photos they can refer back to during their research time.
Collaboration is the key word. Students can view and edit each others notes, by having internet access. They can collaborate without being in the same class, school or city.
Lesson 4- Students will voice record important sequence of events.

tudents are able to voice record their version of the important events they have researched. They can add a photo that represents the main topic.
This keeps the students engaged rather than just writing down the information in a paragraph format.
Lesson 5- Students will create a slideshow about the ancient Roman soldier.

Students are able to create a presentation by adding images, audio sounds, video recordings, power points. Publishing to a bigger audience is key. Students are able to publish their work in a safe manner, opening their publishing to a wider audience.

Students can use the web tool for drawing, and it has the features to upload photos, pdfs, powerpoints and other file to the white board.
This toll keeps students engaged because it has many features besides just a drawing tool.
